Darland Steals the Show and Leads All 30 Laps of the Indiana Sprint Week Opener

After a strong qualifying time Dave Darland took the lead on the first lap of Friday night's 30 lap feature and never looked back.  Darland stole the show leading all 30 laps of the "Robbie Stanley Classic" at the Lawrenceburg Speedway.

Darland was able to hold off drivers like Bryan Clauson, Chad Boat, Levi Jones and Jon Stanbrough.  Darland and Clauson hit major lap traffic at lap 20 and it got interesting as the two drivers weaved in and out of the slow cars.  A yellow flag came out late in the race and with just three laps to go the green flag waved.  It was a shootout between Darland and Clauson to the finish and in the end experience was able to drive into victory lane as Darland took the first race of the Indiana Sprint Week.

Holiday Weekend in Review:  Hoosier Hundred to the Last Lap...

There was certainly no shortage on excitement Friday night at the Fairgrounds.  The RWMS team geared up for the Hoosier Hundred to kick-off the race weekend.  After a split showing in qualifying, Jerry Coons, Jr. taking the third spot and Shane Hmiel starting from the 15th position, neither driver looked back.  Coons, Jr., in the #27 Toyota/Beast set out on a relentless chase of race leader and eventual winner, Shane Hollingsworth.  Coons' #27 gave the lead car numerous challenges for the top spot through the course of the evening, giving fans an edge-of-their seat experience.  Coons, Jr. lost the battle after blowing a tire with one lap to go and eventually finishing in the 11th spot.  Just 2 cars behind the leader battle was RWMS' #17, Shane Hmiel.  Starting in the back half of the field, Hmiel powered his way to navigate the top 5 through the last 30 laps, finally bringing in a 3rd place finish behind Hollingsworth, and Dave Darland.
